Tis the Season to be Kind
December 19th, 2017
Sometimes when we get busy, we get stressed. And when we get stressed, sometimes we forget about kindness. As we move through the holiday season perhaps the most powerful gift we can give to others is kindness.
Flunking the Test
December 12th, 2017
We may not always respond to challenges flawlessly and that’s ok. Inevitably, the more we practice yoga and meditation, the less frequent and dramatic these reactive moments will be. This is why we practice. We practice to create space between the stimulus and the response.
The Gift of Redemption
December 5th, 2017
Woven into the fabric of our humanity are various colors of emotions. Anger is one of these emotions. As we progress along the spiritual path, anger will continue to rise time to time. We can experience it flaring up when we are in traffic, have a disagreement with a loved one, see something disturbing in the news, or move through a personal tragedy.

Recently I was attending a meditation training, at 1440 Multiversity in California, with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. Passion and Purpose
November 14th, 2017
We are all instruments of the divine. When we discover our purpose, our instrument comes alive, and our music becomes powerful. In ancient times, purpose was called dharma. Your dharma encompasses your passions and gifts, and helps to uplift others. By finding your dharma your mind becomes clear, your heart strong, your body energized, and your eyes bright!
November 7th, 2017
It is easy to fall into the trance of unworthiness. In other words, the mindset that we are not good enough. What happens is that we try and make up for this deceptive internal void by filling it up. We work very hard to satiate this ‘hungry ghost’ with things that will supposedly prove our worth in the world. But the only other people we might impress are other hungry ghosts!
Moving Beyond Fear
October 31st, 2017
Fear is a double edge sword. On one end of the spectrum it’s been pivotal for our survival. When we were cavepeople, it dramatically increased our chance of survival. To be able to react quickly to dangerous threats was the difference between life and death. Now in modern times we don’t have to worry about saber tooth tigers. But we have fear that we aren’t good enough, or fear of how we are perceived, or fear of failure.
Who Knows What’s Good or Bad?
October 24th, 2017
We live in very interesting times. Spend thirty minutes watching the news and it can send you into a downward spiral. Warfare, racism, sexism, bigotry, hate, violence, deceit, greed, and corruption of power. Although you may not see it on the media, there are also amazing acts of kindness, charity and generosity unfolding all the time. The Buddha called them the 10,000 joys and 10,000 sorrows of the world.
The Scent of Happiness
October 17th, 2017
How often do we take the exquisiteness of nature for granted? When the mind is endlessly full of unnecessary noise, how can we possibly be present to the beauty happening around us? It’s too easy to get swept away by the ‘rat race’ of life, the negativity of the media, and the blinders of unlimited personal agendas.
The Freedom of Spaciousness
October 10th, 2017
Our yoga and meditation practice gives us the gift of space. The more space that we cultivate, the less affected we will be life’s darker weather. It’s only when we become swept away by the weather that we lose our bearing. When we find spaciousness we find freedom.

The Power of Affirmation
September 26th, 2017
Affirmations help you tap into the power of the mind. For thousands of years, great teachers have espoused the importance of thoughts. The thoughts that you think trigger a domino effect that shapes your external world. Your thoughts can serve you or they can destroy you.
You Were Born with GREATNESS
September 19th, 2017
You have unlimited potential inside of you. There is no end to the greatness that you are capable of embodying. The more that you manifest this greatness the happier you will be. Suffering and misery are signs from the universe trying to message that you have forgotten who you really are.
